Exploring Australia One Road Trip At A Time - Joss & Megan (SEAUSTRAVL)
— January 30, 2022 | 2 min read
What’s the use of living in the greatest country in the world if you don’t get out and see as much of it as possible? That’s the philosophy of young Australian couple Megan and Joss from SEAUSTRAVL (pronounced See OZ Travel). This adventurous duo is based out of Perth, however both grew up in regional area’s before moving to the big city for work.
Joss says, “We love nothing more than getting away from the hustle ‘n’ bustle and daily grind of city life. We like to do at least one small trip every month – if not more!”
Megan and Joss describe themselves as a brand that gives camping and traveling tips, along with sharing their experiences and the beauty of the places they visit. Having travelled extensively overseas, they have a knack for telling a great yarn, combined with extremely high-quality and eye-catching photography and videography. Combine all this with their shared love of the water, and it’s no wonder the pair have amassed a significant following – which is growing day by day.
In addition to their website, they publish content across Facebook, Instagram and Tik Tok, with content split between equipment, scenery and lifestyle. Primarily, it’s aimed at Aussies looking to get off the beaten track and enjoy our great outdoors – encourage them to fulfill their travel dreams. They’re also keen to showcase to international tourists, Australia’s extensive touring and camping opportunities, along with our friendly culture.
“We did a lot of research to determine the best way to set up our rig – and decided to only use Projecta and Narva equipment,” says Joss. “We liked that they’re Australian brands, have a great reputation for reliability – which is important when your out in remote locations – and have dealers just about everywhere.”
Megan and Joss’s goal was to be very self-sufficient, with everything fully contained within the removable canopy – complete with roof top tent. It only takes a few minutes to jack the whole set-up, on or off.
“Working full time, most of our recent trips have been relatively short,” says Joss. “However, with everything contained within the canopy, we can come home on a Friday afternoon, load the canopy back onto the ute, pack some food and cloths, and be on the road in under an hour. When we’re not camping the Projecta solar panels, chargers and battery monitors keep everything fully changed, that way we can head off at very short notice. We’ve done a few spur-of-the-moment trips down to the Margaret River.”
“And when we get to our destination, we can be set-up in just 10 minutes – without having to worry about plugging in. Also, there’s very little unpacking when we get back home. Thanks to Projecta, all of the electrics, like the fridge, cameras, drone and lighting pretty much look after themselves. Having done some of WA’s coast and a bit of the Northern Territory, our goal for 2022 is to do a full lap of Australia. I’ve done a lot of testing with all the Projecta gear over the last 12-months, figuring out how much the solar panels make, vesrus how much power we’re using. I now have good handle on how long we can remain off the grid – which is quite some time.”
Stay tuned for a more detailed rundown on SEAUSTRAVL’s full equipment list and how they maximise its convenience and performance. In the meantime, check out their various social media pages.
